Dream Another Dream…
I awoke from a dream,
As the rain changed direction, I exhaled a winter's breath,
A breath so cold I blew snowflakes with every word,
Tongue ice cold, I froze with every gasp,
Blanket of white serenaded my vision of a new forever,
I could see for miles,
A distant memory of sorrow,
Drenched footsteps from my past,
A morning silenced on my pillow.
A galaxy of stars disappeared in glistening sun,
I raised a smile to the clouds consuming the blue,
Roses became deep dark red once more,
With every weep of the snow, every thorn began to show,
I hear a piano in the background dwelling on yesterday,
But,
I'm not looking back,
I awake with life,
I awake with beauty,
I awake with creased petals,
Like the veins in my mortal being as oxygen flows,
Empty no more,
To mother nature I surrender,
Life itself has grown,
Oh how I wish to dream another dream...
