Good Morning, Mary…
"Hello Mary, good morning"
No words but tirelessly yawning,
I can see people speaking,
Another breakfast I'll be eating,
My eyes are my words,
How long left on this earth?
"Mary, I'll just pop this apron on you to protect your lovely jumper"
Look at me, can you see what I'm saying?
Sleep in my eyes, repeat, repeat, same old tasting,
"Have you had a good sleep Mary?"
Vacant look, she just keeps blinking,
To associate this tree I see blowing, with medication,
The sun I see is glowing, but living isn't suffocation,
I've grew beautiful life in my womb,
Now I'm fed by you and a little spoon,
Do my tastebuds change? As I don't know what's in my mouth,
I can't hear you, as people in here are talking too loud,
To prolong my life,
I do wonder why,
Can you see that in my eyes?
If so, is all this worthwhile?
Spoon after spoon, the tree is in bloom,
I'll see you again, as I'll be in bed soon,
”I wish she spoke of what she's thinking”
Why is it thick when I seem to be drinking,
Are you still looking at me?
Do you see a woman that's free?
All these questions but no speech,
I'm just in a wheelchair weak and frail,
I know that you care, I see it on your face,
Don't be sad for me Wayne, I've had a happy life,
I still breathe, I may not speak, but I still have my eyes,
I know that you care, this you must embrace,
I have the tree in my living days,
You may not hear me,
But my eyes are saying…
Good morning to you as well Wayne.
