Down on The Ground!
Tears flow the streets as handcuffs and
guns force the peace,
Struggling in the hood, all we want is justice
for our peeps,
Stranded, broken home, blue flashing lights,
only way I could see at night,
Travelling, poet alone, church candle alight,
praying to god for a better life.
Down on the ground!
Down on the ground!
A bullet will kill you!
Down on the ground!
Faith will keep me going, my brothers,
sisters and the lord only knows it,
White homies pretending to be street, the
fact is, they're still privileged,
Depression, oppression, is killing our
creative expression!
Disillusion of progressing, is filling the
ghetto with pollution.
Down on the ground!
Down on the ground!
A bullet will kill you!
Down on the ground!
People running their mouth like they get
around,
Police sirens at the 7/11 is a youngbloods
sound,
How many more shots need to be fired
aloud?
Before the gospel choir sing upon soiled
mounds.
Justice?
Police the police?
Skin colour,
Why does it matter!
A heart within us, has the same beat!
We're the same, but walk different streets.
Down on the ground?
Down on the ground?
A bullet will kill you!
Down on the ground?
This drives my anger!
All lives should matter!
This is me,
Who are you?
