Cars On The Wall…
I only knew this man for a little while,
What caught my eye, was his cheeky little smile,
He invited me as one of the lads, into his room,
Family visited daily, I knew his legacy was loving and true.
He had a laugh that was infectious, he loved his camera for taking pictures,
When I used to give him a shave, we talked and he had me in stitches,
We'd look out the window together, to see who was kicking about,
One thing was for sure, he was a gentleman and very proud.
Walls decorated with cars and all,
He lived a life, before an emergency call,
To pull a chord was not Terry,
Poor Pat, would always worry.
His family took him out for fish and chips or brought them to the home,
Time had gone by, he started getting breathless, but not feeling alone,
Some carer's were always there, even in hard times, I hope you knew,
Thoughts can get clouded, emotions can be hard, but some hearts were still true.
This man called Terry, he came into my life with a huge personality,
He put things into perspective and he also drove me to a reality,
He has made a mark,
I know this, because of who came to visit,
He has made a mark,
I know this, because I still see the pictures.
Walls decorated with cars and all,
He lived a life, before an emergency call,
To pull a chord was not Terry,
Poor Pat would always worry.
He's up there, still probably laughing,
So here's to you, Mr Terrence Batten...
