Her Silent Screams…
She waits for a smile,
Emotion,
She waits for a look that's never been seen in a while,
She listens for the words,
Words of unconditional love,
Letter by letter, she hung on with a razor blade,
Tear by tear, she lay on the tiles with a vacant gaze,
She tasted the salt with every bitter blow,
She wasted the hours with every broken bone,
Her voice was silent, the screams held a nightmare deafness,
Nails scraping, snapping with excruciating darkness,
If only the world seen her,
Seen her as worthy of the love she gave,
Then maybe she wouldn't hide behind the blade,
If love had found her sooner, the world would be smiling at mother,
As petals cascade from life,
Let the world know she was bruised by another.
Tattooed with scars on the inside but hate on the outside,
She gets judged from many but not knowing what she hides,
She wanted to be held,
Held by the arms of someone special,
Not by a man who had an abusive fetish,
In the pit of her stomach the pain became unbearable,
The weight of the world carried too many stories,
She was a person,
A beautiful light but the feelings were uncontrollable,
She deserved so much, instead the soil was still pouring.
People gathered,
But sadly too late,
The heart stopped and the casket was dropped,
Flower's rained down with guilt ridden faces,
Why didn't anybody do something?
Why didn't anybody read the signs?
She kept it so well hidden,
She hid everything with a smile,
For the violence there were no screams,
For her silence, she doesn't live to dream...
The tree of life has so many wonderful branches,
So why is life chucked away and took for granted?
She sleeps with mother earth and her smile was her curse,
Let's open up,
Don't be ashamed,
Let's speak about our hurt,
Let death not be in vain...
