I Am But A Man…

As the skin splits,

Muscle torn flesh, appearing beneath the liquid of life.

Whip after whip,

Drip after drip,

Slaves in hell,

Screams reach out, to the crying moon of the night.

Soil between fingers,

Nails scraping the stones, urine turning ground into mud,

Stench of despair, tears dripping to the unknown,

Jesus christ, Nobody understood!

A cackle of laughter,

A man to the slaughter,

Wanting to be in lovers arms,

Instead,

Slumped,

Chained to bricked wall.

Wiping blood, from blurry visions,

Echoes from broken soul, as tears trickle,

From the bellied beast, starving from redemption,

But,

Ego can drive with the devil, succumbing to temptation,

Silence occurs between land and sky, gritting slavouring teeth, tasting salt,

Holding on to faith, Father show me a sign, my skin colour is not my fault,

Strength is my beautiful disaster, white eyes spill out to a freedom,

Drenched in the guilt of my master, in this life I'll still keep Breathing.
